Stalker on The Fens is another great read, that I struggled to put down, could easily have read in one sitting given the time. These books are written in such an easy, readable style. I love the close working relationship within Nikki's team which seems so natural/5. The previous book was the first one I had read from the author, I loved it so much that I have read most of the series now.

I eagerly anticipated this, the next in the series. It was well worth the wait. This could be the best yet, of an already fantastic series.

There has been so much development out on the Fens since the last book/5. HUNTED ON THE FENS a gripping crime thriller full of twists (DI Nikki Galena Book 3) Kindle Edition vindictive stranger for the broken team.

These books have given me a new passion about reading and I'm amazed at the story lines, character development and plot twists. Not to mention the refreshing feeling of learning a piece about yourself /5(). The protagonists are, Pip, a young boy needed to navigate through wickit. Lady Rane, the woman in need to find her way to her ancestors gold/5.

In the Domesday book, William of Malmesbury wrote: “here is such quantities of fish as to cause astonishment in strangers.” The Domesday Book also recorded that the fishing and mere of the Abbot of Ramsey in Holme parish (part of Whittlesea Mere) was valued at £10, a very large sum in those days.

Johnson’s protagonists are all female, and mostly young: women who are either in the process of transitioning from girlhood to womanhood, or recently graduated and exploring the powers it bestows on them. By drawing parallels between the state of femaleness and the fens, Author: Sarah Crown.

The title of this book is probably the most perfect title I have seen in a long time, Darkness on the Fens, it is that alright. Someone is committing heinous murders. Victims are suffering agonising deaths and nobody can help just stand there and watch the suffering/5. CRIME ON THE FENS is the first novel in a gripping new crime fiction series.

The next book SHADOW OVER THE FENS will be released very soon. NIKKI GALENA SERIES Book 1: CRIME ON THE FENS Book 2: SHADOW OVER THE FENS Book 3: HUNTED ON THE FENS PRAISE FOR JOY ELLIS: “Joy Ellis’s future books will be something to look forward to.” ().

In the Fens of Essex and Kent And, first, as to this “grave” custom on the London side of the Thames, we have epistolary testimony of a writer in the year Canvey Island was not mentioned specifically but it is very well known that the area was afflicted in this way.

The Walloons set up a colony at Sandtoft on Hatfield Chase in the Isle of Axeholme and used their ditching and embankment skills to clear and drain the fens. The local inhabitants had no liking for the 'strangers'. For hundreds of years they had held the right to take wildfowl and fish the pools and rivers.

Philippa Pearce, a children's author, set many of her books in the Fens, for example Tom's Midnight Garden. Gladys Mitchell, prolific writer of detective fiction, took her eccentric sleuth, the psychiatrist Mrs Lestrange Bradley, to the Fens in several books, notably The Worsted Viper, Wraiths and Changelings and The Mudflats of the tuent country: England.

Forty-three year old Ria is used to being alone. As a child, her life changed forever with the death of her beloved father and since then, she has struggled to find love. That is, until she discovers the swimmer.

Ben is a young illegal immigrant from Sri Lanka who has arrived in Norfolk via Moscow/5. Opium in the Fens Despite the difficulties of reconstructing patterns of opium use, a detailed picture can be put together of what was happening at this time in one particular area.

Opium consumption in the Fenland was arguably untypical in that it was high, and extensive enough to attract particular attention at. The Masters (Strangers and Brothers) Paperback – Febru over in the fens. However, I could recognise so much of what happened in this book. The conversations between the Fellows, the orotundity of speech, the rigidity and formality of their manners it all just seemed like yesterday.
